Passion and faraway travel, family and holiday festivities are successfully portrayed in their newly published book "BIG BOYS DO NOT CRY" An Anthology of Poetry and Prose. The first poem and title of the book comes from William's step into adulthood when his Father died when William was still a boy. Another inspiration came from the second marriage for both William and Julia and the blending of their two families. The poems express deep feelings of love especially as grandchildren arrive in their lives. Both Julia and William have stories of their growing up years, William from New Jersey and Julia from New Zealand. (Worlds apart but many common features.) Julia has also included articles she wrote for a bulletin and has taken topics of everyday living and created a story around them. For example eating a meal post surgery in a hospital bed, using humor to make a point. The book makes for light reading and a good gift.
