"The Robert L. McNeil, Jr., Collection of American Presidential China at the Philadelphia Museum of Art is the most comprehensive assemblage of its kind outside the nation's capital. The more than two hundred rare objects in the collection - many of them illustrated here in color - offer an extraordinary overview of the changing styles, tastes, and modes of entertaining at the Executive Mansion across three centuries of American history, from George Washington to Ronald Reagan."--Jacket.
