"Barbara Hepworth (1903-1975) is internationally acclaimed as one of the major sculptors of the mid-twentieth century. Initially a carver of hardwoods and stones, her work diversified to include plasters and bronzes, as well as paintings, drawings and prints. Examples of all these art forms are included in the unrivalled collection of Hepworth's works now in the care of the Tate Gallery, presented here all together for the first time."--BOOK JACKET.
