"In 2002 Ken Thompson (1923-2006) announced his gift of some 2,000 Canadian and European paintings and works of art to the Art Gallery of Ontario. The Thompson Collection in the AGO is extraordinarily rich and many of its outstanding treasures have been seen only by very few and never been published. This book presents First Nations art and a survey of the oeuvre and career of nine major Canadian artists of whom the Thomson Collection has fully representative holdings."--BOOK JACKET.
