Kirstie and Lucky chase after a beautiful Appaloosa that seems to be lost. Each time Kirstie seems to get close to catching the Appie, which she has named Navaho Joe, he slips away. With a winter blizzard threatening to hit any moment, Joe seems doomed to have to survive the stinging cold by himself.
