As the days grow longer and the nights warmer, Guardian Miss Elting's group of young wholesome-adventure seekers is off to hike the hills and valleys together. With the help of "Crazy" Jane McCarthy and her roadster, Harriet, Margery, Grace "Tommy" Thompson, and Hazel have an interesting encounter with dozens of melons; meet a group of hikers that shares their enthusiasm for mischief; and make fast friends with a mystical old woman and her shadowy family members.
